Why Trump's Wall Street Donors Don't Care About Guilty Verdict

(Yahoo! Finance) - A New York jury found former President Donald Trump guilty of all 34 counts in his criminal trial scrutinizing his hush money coverup. As of right now, Trump's sentencing is reportedly set for Thursday, July 11.

Veda Partners Director of Economic Policy Henrietta Treyz and Yahoo Finance Senior Columnist Rick Newman come onto Asking for a Trend to discuss the outcome of this guilty verdict and what it could mean for the 2024 presidential election, while elaborating on several of Trump's biggest talking points.

"So I don't think he will lose any support from the high dollar donators... but I would note, and this is something I talked about with my clients just recently, Trump outraised Biden in the last month of the election cycle. And it's really important to look at where those donations come from because everybody in America only gets one vote," Treyz tells Yahoo Finance.

Following the verdict, Trump told the press this was a "rigged, disgraceful trial" and affirmed the only ruling that matters will come on November 5, when voters go out to the polls.
