Baton Rouge Man Arrested for Allegedly Selling Fake Insurance

(BRProud) - An insurance investigation that started in January leads to a Baton Rouge man behind bars.

According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), 47-year-old Trampus Wagoner was arrested after engaging in fraudulent activities by accepting insurance premiums from customers without securing actual policies for them, defrauding the victims over $39,000.

Wagoner was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 9 counts of theft, 9 counts of prohibited actions and sanctions- insurance producers, and 8 counts of forgery of a certificate on insurance.

Anyone who purchased insurance from Wagoner is urged to contact the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud Unit at 225-925-3850.
