Radio Show Financial Advisor Disappears Ahead Of SEC Investigation

An Atlanta Financial advisor has gone missing. According to a Atlanta Journal Constitution report, Chris Burns, who has a weekly radio show and appears on local television, left his home the day before he was supposed to hand over documents to the SEC late last month and has since disappeared. Burns left his home on September 24, his wife Meredith Burns told Gwinnett Police.

A spokesperson for the Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday that the agency does not confirm or deny the existence of investigations unless a decision is made to pursue action against an individual in court or before an administrative judge.

Burns is founder of Dynamic Money, which is registered with the SEC as Investus Advisers. Burns purchased air time from WSB radio for a weekly radio show and was “not a direct employee,” according to the station. He was also a guest on Fox News programs several times over the past few months.

Burns' vehicle was found in a parking lot on Perimeter Center East in Dunwoody. Inside was an envelope with copies of cashier’s checks totaling more than $78,000, police said. His wife told the police that Burns had texted her, his parents and brother to tell them that he loved them, according to the police report.

“There is still a lot of developing information that is coming in every day," said attorney Kristen Wright Novay, adding the family is working with authorities for Burns' "safe return home.”
