(Capital FM) - In January, Adele settled her £144 million divorce from husband of three years, Simon Konecki, with the legal proceedings being finalised in March.
The iconic songstress first filed for divorce in September 2019, and aimed to avoid a split that would 'drags on for years' – the separation from her ex and father of her son was the inspiration for her critically acclaimed fourth studio album, '30'.
The settlement has remained largely private, with only details on the lack of prenuptial agreement being revealed by the LA court – to protect her enormous wealth, according to this publication.
The judge ruled that "financial, sales or other confidential business information" regarding the proceedings will be kept private, with any involved parties needing to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
The 33-year-old was in a relationship with charity CEO Simon for eight years, marrying in 2016 and together they share a 9-year-old son, Angelo, who was born in 2012.
The 'Easy On Me' singer filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and requested joint custody of their son, who they continue to co-parent together.
Their split was confirmed by a spokesperson for the singer, who released a statement in 2019, saying: "Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
