IMCA Rebrands to Investments & Wealth Institute

IMCA is now the Investments & Wealth Institute™.

As part of a multi-stage strategic plan adopted at the direction of IMCA’s board of directors to position the association for the future, the organization has changed its name to the Investments & Wealth Institute (“The Institute”).

The rebrand, based on member feedback through quantitative and qualitative research, reflects the Institute’s objectives based on GEARS:  Grow, Educate, Add Value, Relevance, and Standards.

With nearly 12,000 members and certificants in 38 countries, the Institute is growing as more financial services professionals seek the advanced education needed to succeed in a rapidly changing environment.

“For more than three decades, our organization has been at the forefront of education for investment and wealth management professionals, and the expectation for advanced knowledge and professionalism in the industry is rising,” said Scott Thayer, CIMA®, chairman of the board.

“Our new name more accurately reflects who we are and what we do, as well as elevates our mission to deliver the premier investment and wealth management credentials and world class education.”

Members can expect to see the same high-quality educational offerings along with new courses and more options for live and online learning. Certification requirements for the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designations have not changed.

In addition, a number of benchmark studies are underway to substantiate the importance and value of the CIMA and CPWA credentials for individuals and teams, as well as how these credentials meet the expectations of high-net-worth (HNW) investors.

A new website, www.investmentsandwealth.org, will also be unveiled later this year.

“Since 1985 we have established and enforced high standards for advanced practitioners, delivering premier education that offers a unique blend of Ivy League level expertise and practical application.” added Sean Walters, CAE, executive director and chief executive officer.

“The Investments & Wealth Institute will continue to enhance the competency and professionalism of advice delivered to the public. This rebrand re-focuses our identity toward our primary role which is to develop and certify ethical, competent professionals who provide clients with sophisticated strategies for navigating their investments, and comprehensive advice on how to manage and preserve their wealth.”

To reflect the new branding, IMCA Australia will become the CIMA Society of Australia and the New York chapter will be named the Investments & Wealth Society of New York.
