With the Interest Rate Rising, Some Funds Have Yields Over 5%

Some ETFs and mutual funds now have yields above 5%, but higher returns mean higher risk, InvestmentNews writes. According to the publication, the following are the largest ETFs and mutual funds in order of their annualized 30-day yield, courtesy of Morningstar Direct.

The Ten Largest ETFs and Mutual Funds According To Their Standardized Yield

Firstly, the highest annualized 30-day yield is from Global X SuperDividend REIT ETF, at 8.08%, InvestmentNews writes. The fund has assets of $80.5 million and a 12-month total return of 8.97%, according to the publication. 

Second highest is Alerian MLP ETF, with a standardized yield of 7.30% and assets of $10.3 billion, InvestmentNews writes. It has a 12-month total return of -6.95%, but this fund dropped 25.7% in 2015, which is a reminder of what can happen, the publication writes. 

Pimco Emerging Local Bond Fund has assets of $3.7 billion and a 12-month total return of 0.58%, InvestmentNews writes. And, despite some rough spots, the fund has an annualized 30-day yield of 6.51%, according to the publication. 

Fourth highest is SPDR Bloomberg Barclays ST High Yield Bond ETF, which has assets of $3.6 billion, a 12-month total return of 2.85%, and an annualized 30-day yield of 5.88%, InvestmentNews writes. Another high-yield bond is Vanguard High-Yield Corporate Fund, with a standardized yield of 5.68%, a 12-month total return of 0.93%, and assets of $23.5 billion, the publication writes. 

An annualized 30-day yield of 5.60% puts Pimco Real Estate Real Return Strategy in fifth place, with a 12-month total return of 0.69%, and assets of $2 billion, InvestmentNews writes. Loomis Sayles Sr. Floating Rate and Fixed Income is the next highest, with a standardized yield of 5.48%, assets of $3.8 billion, and a 12-month total return of 4.78%, according to the publication.

With a 12-month total return of 1.50%, and assets of $551 million, SPDR Wells Fargo Preferred Stock ETF is the eighth highest, showing an annualized 30-day yield of 5.47%, InvestmentNews writes. The ninth highest is T. Rowe Price Emerging Markets Bond Fund, with a standardized yield of 5.20%, assets of $5.5 billion, and a 12-month total return of -2.67%, the publication writes. Finally, Oppenheimer Global Strategic Income has an annualized 30-day yield of 5.08% and a 12-month total return of -0.83% with assets of $4 billion, InvestmentNews writes.
