Eqis Capital Management, a San Rafael-based asset management firm, has promoted Joseph F. Hunter to president and CEO, and hired Kari Franz as senior vice president of marketing.
Hunter, a resident of Seattle who has more than 25 years of experience in executive management, was hired as COO in February. He is replacing Scott Winters, who is the co-founder and former CEO of Eqis. Winters will continue his role on the board of directors, but will no longer be involved in operations.
Franz, a Novato resident, has 29 years of experience in financial services. She comes from Charles Schwab and Co. Inc. where she was responsible for mutual fund and Exchange-Traded Fund marketing.
