David Cassidy Cut Daughter Katie Out Of His Will

David Cassidy cut his actress daughter Katie out of his will years before he died.

Before he died, the 67-year-old specified in legal documents that all of his remaining fortune should be left to his son Beau.

Katie, 31, whose mother was never married to the singer, was not to receive any of it.

The documents were obtained by The Blast on Wednesday after being filed in court.

They were written in 2004 and have not been changed since despite Cassidy and Katie briefly reconciling.

'It is my specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy and/or any descendant of Katherine Evelyn Cassidy,' the will reads.

At the time of his death, Cassidy had just $150,000 in assets despite spending decades in the spotlight.

The Partridge Family star died of organ failure in a hospital in Florida last month.

His family turned off his life support after being told he would need a new liver to survive but would never survive undergoing a transplant.

His death certificate confirmed that he was cremated at the Fred Hunter Crematory in Hollywood, Florida.

While Beau was given his father's money, the star left any music memorabilia to his half-siblings Shawn, Ryan and Patrick.

Katie, who appears in the series Arrow and also starred in Gossip Girl, had a complicated relationship with her father which involved them being estranged and briefly reunited.

She mourned his death on Twitter last month and revealed their reconciliation.

'Words cant express the solace our family's received from all the love and support during this trying time.

'My father's last words were 'so much wasted time'. This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute.'

Earlier this year, David said the pair had fallen out of touch again.

'I’ve never had a relationship with her. I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her.

'She has a completely different life,' he told People in February.

He said he was 'proud' of her acting success and described her as being 'very talented'.

In the same People interview, he gushed over Beau.

'He’s just one of the best people you’ll ever meet in your life and it’s that that I’m proud of,' he said.

Katie is best known for her role as Juliet in Gossip Girl.

She and her father were pictured together in 2007 during one of their few moments of closeness when he took her to the 9th annual Family Television Awards.

Beau is Cassidy's only child through marriage.

The singer was married to his mother Sue between 1991 and 2016. Katie's mother Sherry is a singer.

She was born in 1986, years before Cassidy married his wife. Despite their on-off father-daughter relationship, Katie was present when his life support was turned off last month.

Cassidy's financial woes were well documented before his death as was his battle with alcoholism.

Two years before he died, he sold his South Florida home and most of the furniture inside it at auction.

He had been living in Fort Lauderdale in the months before his death but it is not clear where or how he paid for it.

In the months before his death, Cassidy revealed he was battling dementia.

The Partridge Family aired from 1970-74 and was a fictional variation of the ’60s performers the Cowsills, intended at first as a vehicle for Shirley Jones, the Oscar winning actress and Cassidy’s stepmother.

Jones played Shirley Partridge, a widow with five children with whom she forms a popular act that travels on a psychedelic bus.

The cast also featured Cassidy as eldest son and family heartthrob Keith Partridge; Susan Dey, later of LA Law fame, as sibling Laurie Partridge and Danny Bonaduce as sibling Danny Partridge.

It was an era for singing families - the Osmonds, the Jacksons.

The Partridge Family never cracked the top 10 in TV ratings, but the recordings under their name, mostly featuring Cassidy, Jones and session players, produced real-life musical hits and made Cassidy a real-life musical superstar.
